Finally…after a long week at work, Friday evening is here. You could retreat home with a tub of your favorite Ben & Jerry’s ice cream, or lounge around in your fuzzy socks, but that’s what Sundays are for. And there is always something to do in Tampa. Here are just a few events going on this weekend.
$15 days – Lowry Park Zoo
For fifteen days, Florida residents ages 3 and up can enjoy entrance into the Lowry Park Zoo for only $15! Head on over this weekend with the family and enjoy viewing all the animals and shows (hopefully rain free). This special runs through August 16, so hurry over this weekend!
Thompson Square Debuts at Dallas Bull
After a long day of work, end your workweek the right way with some country music from country duo, Thompson Square, debuting at Dallas Bull at 7 pm on Friday.
Tickets are available for $20 for ages 18+
Also, show up early on this Saturday for free line dance lessons from 7:30-9:30 pm so you can get out on the floor and strut your stuff. Sometimes lessons may be cancelled due to special events, but free lessons are always offered Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
Sublime with Rome
See the super popular Ska punk band bring their North-American tour to MidFlorida Credit Union Amphitheatre at the Florida State Fairgrounds this Friday at 6 pm with fellow reggae-inspired bands including Rebelution, Pepper and Mickey Avalon. Come early to get a front row seat!
Tickets are available for $19.50 – $59.50
Summer Classic Movie Series
If you’re looking to relax with a good movie this Sunday, the Tampa Theater will be showing Goodfellas at 3 pm as a part of its Summer Classic Movie Series. Local film expert, Bob Ross will lead a short discussion after the movie. The rest of the summer, Tampa Theater will be showing your favorite classic, Hollywood movies.
Tickets are $10; $8 for members
Ladies Night at Hyde Park Cafe
For all you ladies needing a night out, Hyde Park Cafe features a free cover for ladies 21+ as well as complimentary cocktails with Tommy Bahama flavor of the month. Enjoy great food, and plenty of drink specials, while enjoying a night out with the ladies.
Other drink specials include: $3 select beers, $3 honey bombs, $3 shot of Trad Silver with a beer purchase, $4 shots made with Skyy flavors, $5 Tommy Bahama, $7.50 Johnny Vegas
