Start the Season with Carmel Cafe Fall Flavors

Since the weather is dropping down to a full on, Floridian chill (70 degrees), Carmel Café recently released some cooler weather menu items with autumn tastes, flavors, and culinary heat.

We sampled the new fall offerings and here is our night-out combination for the best way to enjoy the new menu.

For a Cocktail: Italian Old Fashioned

Nothing adds a boost of autumn warmth quite like a cocktail made with bourbon. Carmel Café mixologists bring together Buffalo Trace Kentucky bourbon, lemon juice, simply syrup, peach jam, and Amarena cherries to create a new, old fashioned fit for the fall season.

For a Starter: Danish Baked Brie

You can’t go wrong with baked brie, especially when it is layered over of a puff pastry and stuffed with dried cranberries and toasted walnuts. Served with grapes, apples and bread, this traditional cheese plate is an obviously stellar starter that can be paired well with any sip of wine from Carmel Cafe’s extensive list.

For Dinner for Two: Spinach Gnocchi and Four Cheese Stuffed Cannelloni

Make it a pasta pair night out and share the tastes of both of these plates.

A unique take on pasta dumplings, these light and tender Spinach Gnocchi in Parmesan sauce are less filling, but more flavorful than traditional Italian cavatelli and marinara sauce.

Keeping in line with the lightness of the Spinach Gnocchi, Carmel Café’s Four Cheese Stuffed Cannelloni is another way to enjoy a plate of Italain flavors without the over-indulged aftermath. The Cannelloni  made with Ricotta, Fonitina, Provolone and Parmasean cheeses and house made Bolognese sauce has a bit of a saucy bite matched with airy, cheesey goodness.

For Dessert:  Warm Poached Pear

Pairing pear with ice cream is a smart way to convert a standard summer treat into an autumn, after dinner dessert. A salted caramel sauce is laid over a plate of vanilla ice cream and warm poached pear spicing up this summer classic.

Still Hungry?

Other new Carmel Café Autumn Menu Items include:

Seasonal Flatbread – Blu cheese, Caramelized pear

Seafood Medley – Scallops, Shrimp, Calamari, Mussels, Chorizo, Israeli couscous, roasted red peppers, simmered in a saffron broth

Stuffed Madeira Dates – cream cheese, Serrano ham

Caramelized Brussels Sprouts – With Bacon crumbles

Watermelon Granita – Rosangel hibiscus-infused tequila, house-made sour mash, agave nectar, fresh watermelon, basil
