GrillSmith, a refined-casual restaurant concept with six locations in Tampa Bay, will host a “Back to School Week” fundraising event Aug. 22-28 at all GrillSmith locations to benefit the Calyx and Beau Schenecker Memorial.
Parker Schenecker father of Calyx, 16, and Beau, 13 who were tragically killed in January 2011, is devoted to honoring his children and has established the Calyx and Beau Schenecker Memorial in their memory.
Schenecker has partnered up with GrillSmith executives to help honor the memory of Calyx and Beau by doing something focused around their favorite GrillSmith dishes. GrillSmith will donate 100 percent of sales from Calyx’s favorite dish, the Caribbean Pumpkin Crab Bisque soup, and Beau’s favorite appetizer, the Spicy Thai Shrimp, during the“Back to School Week” to the Calyx and Beau Schenecker Memorial Fund.
This event will raise money for the Memorial Fund established through the Community Foundation of Tampa Bay that recognizes Bay area teenagers for their leadership, athleticism and performing arts abilities.
“My family and I would like to thank GrillSmith for their generosity and support,” Schenecker said. “Relationships were ultimately important to Calyx and Beau, and this opportunity along with friends and family to celebrate the lives of my exceptional children will be a fitting tribute to them. Calyx and Beau would be so humbled and honored by the generosity of so many.”
The Calyx and Beau Schenecker Memorial Fund was established in 2011 to perpetuate their exceptional legacy by providing leadership, athletic and performing arts opportunities for promising Tampa Bay area teenagers. For more information, please contact the Community Foundation of Tampa Bay.
